Detail On All The Other Bits

Transmission:
Getrag 235/5 close ratio racing 5 speed (stock in mid 1974-75 Jensen-Healeys) but rebuilt and re-engineered to handle 250 bhp/210 torque and 8000 rpm by Metric Mechanic The dogleg shift pattern is R-2-4 & 1-3-5 on the theory that you only use 1st gear once in a race. With street tires and wheels the speeds in gears @ 7000 rpm are 1st 41 mph 2nd 63 mph 3rd 86 mph 4th 109 mph and 5th 150 mph (est @ 7800), almost identical to a Honda S2000.

Custom one piece driveline designed and built for 250 hp, 210 ft/lbs torque and 8000 rpm engine speed by Drivelines Northwest.

Limited Slip 3.73/1 differential from Gripper Differential.

Chrome shift knob with engraved shift pattern from Ferrari Parts Exchange.

Heavy Duty Clutch and Pressure Plate from Lotusbits

Suspension and Chassis:
Uprated springs, f/r sway bars and polyurethane bushings from Delta Motorsports.
Uprated shocks (Bilstein) from Jensen-Healey Preservation Society.

Front tires 205-50 15”and 225-60 16” rear tires with 15” front and 16” rear x 7” wide street wheels custom built to a 4 x 4” bolt pattern (stock Drilled Rotors and Uprated CalipersJensen-Healey) by American Racing.  Track day tires 15” x 7” front/rear Centerline wheels with 225-45 15” (tire brand varies).

Four piston front disc brake calipers and high performance pads from BCC (British Classic Car Parts).

Drilled and slotted front brake rotors and upgraded rear shoes by Porterfield Brakes.

Interior:
Recaro LS seats (moved rearward 3” for more leg room) with black leather and light gray Alcantra inserts & a custom logo plus a black leather interior by Axiom Auto Trim.

All S-W gauges with 8000 rpm tach, 160 mph speedo, oil pressure & oil temp, water temp, clock, fuel level, volt gauge and vacuum gauge from Summit Racing.

Custom convertible top, much more attractive & aerodynamic, (made possible by dropping the gas tank in the trunk and moving the fuel fill to behind the license plate) by All City Convertibles and Customs.

Body:
Steel unibody aft of the headlights with welded seams and steel restoration by Fenders and Fins.

New fiberglass and epoxy front end with BMW brackets for a four headlight system (Custom built).

Custom roll bar with removable diagonal brace-really stiffens up the car.

Small spoiler on trunk lid and electric trunk release to replace leaky key lock.

Custom fiberglass bonnet without a power bulge since there was no need to clear the old carburetors. I took off as much weight as I could, like both bumpers, brackets, bonnet and trunk braces, radio etc.

Body Color:
    Azure Blue Firemist Poly

Plus a collection of suitable vintage vehicle badges to identify the car.

Completed by Vintage Racing Motors (VRM):
All the final installation work of the new engine, which because of the larger 912 Shaved Crossmemberblock did not fit in the standard Jensen-Healey engine bay without VRM Engine In @ VRMmodifying the front cross member so it would fit.
New fuel lines because I was converting from carbs to fuel injection so they had to be redone.

Custom 18 gallon fuel tank lowered in trunk to replace the spare tire-filled from behind the license plate. New wheels and tires Fuel Tankare too big for a spare anyway – I will rely on Fix-a-Flat or a tow truck.

Custom free flow stainless steel exhaust from manifold to duel SuperTrapp tail pipes.
